There are moments in history that don’t need an explanation. Wembley 1988 is one of them.

When I started thinking about this collection, the first thing that came to mind was that image: 72,000 people, including Princess Diana, witnessing live the coronation of the King of Pop. It wasn’t a concert. It was a historical event.

The challenge of this piece was exactly that: how to make the dark colors support the composition instead of overpowering it. To make Michael Jackson the gravitational center of everything. To make everything else orbit around him.

The result is a piece with restrained geometry, almost architectural. Dark, but precise. Like him.
